Our History

Mawson Global is an addition to a group of companies that have been involved in global commerce for over 70 years.

Our grandfather began a fruit and vegetable trading business that grew to source and sell exotic fruits and nuts from all corners of the globe.  After 50 very successful years of growth the business was sold to an international fruit company, Chiquita Brands.

As a family we looked to continue our expertise in global trade and started Nut Farms Australia.  Over 10 years this grew to have blue chip retail clients in 5 of the largest markets in the world, and manufacturing in Australia, China and Vietnam.

Building on three generations of experience we are pleased to offer our global manufacturing and marketing expertise to the many diverse clients of Mawson Global.

Peter Evans
Adelaide, Australia

Peter is a founder of Mawson Global. Peter has had extensive international experience in many areas of strategic business growth.  His method is very "hands on" and practical, as he is a business owner at heart.

He has worked with clients as diverse as multi national retailers like Walmart Stores and Aldi to farming cooperatives and software houses, providing a broad background to provide real value for our clients.

John Evans
Adelaide, Australia

John is a founder of Mawson Global.  His international experience with retailers and manufactures in many countries has given him strong operational and sourcing expertise.

John's cross cultural relationship skills are a huge asset to his many clients.  His senior executive experience with global playes like Chiquita Brands and Angas Park Fruit enable him to add value at board level with any client.

Michael Corigliano
NSW, Australia

Michael manages our NSW based clients at Mawson Global.  He has an applied finance education and used this extensively in his career.  Most recently Michael spent 8 years with the ANZ Bank as a relationship manager for commercial and property clients.  His excellent understanding of cash flow and finance are a huge asset especially to those clients who may be moving into international trade for the first time.
 
Michael is also a director of his family’s business which involves specialist imports for the hospitality industry.  This down to earth, real life experience is highly valued by his clients (along with his excellent Italian cooking skills!)

Ron McPhee
Richmond, USA

Ron's extensive business experience began from Ryerson University in Toronto with a business degree.  Over the next 40 years he has been instrumental in building businesses in the food manufacturing industry.

His foundation in finance led him to hold various senior executive positions within George Weston Limited in Canada and the USA. 

His strategic ability at board level in both startups and mature businesses provides his clients with valuable experience in identifying and benefiting from global marketing and manufacturing.

Wendy Jin
Qingdao, China

Wendy has over 15 years of experience in manufacturing, sourcing and logistics in multiple Asian countries.  Working with global retailers like Walmart, Asda and Aldi has developed deep experience in quality and ethical compliance.

Wendy has held senior management roles in both Chinese and global companies. This provides her clients with unique problem solving expertise for the challenges of Western business in Asia.

Wendy has played an instrumental role introducing international branded product lines into mainland China.  This experience provides our clients with real solutions in the world's largest market.

Wendy is a member of our China office based in Qingdao.

Ni Nguyen
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Ni has always had a strong interest in foreign trade, graduating with both foreign trade and language degrees.  She has put this to use, developing sourcing programs for European and multinational companies in Vietnam.

Ni has strong negotiating and quality assurance experience in this exciting emerging economy.  Her work for clients, whose products range from agricultural commodities to manufactured goods and packaging, ensures she adds real value to all our clients.

Ni is a member of our Vietnam office based in Ho CHi Minh City.

Hebe Du
Qingdao, China

Hebe's experience with sourcing and trade comes from years of working in foreign companies.

Her background in cost control and resource planning provides our clients with excellent results for on time, within budget deliveries.  Hebe has a strong history in packaging design and development which can deliver our clients outstanding quality in a low cost environment.

Hebe is a member of our China office based in Qingdao.

Esther Zhang
Qingdao, China

Esther has developed experience in foreign trade, working with well known foreign joint ventures in China.  Her understanding of the delivery of complex projects to international retailers is highly valued by our clients.

Esther has acknowledged strength in the areas of logistics and transportation, as well as finance and administration.  This broad understanding of trade services provides our clients with an excellent resource to use in negotiating these often difficult areas.

Esther is a member of our China office based in Qingdao.

Jennifer Xu
Qingdao, China

Jennifer graduated from university with degrees in foreign trade and language.  She has used this background to develop excellent skills working for Chinese coorporations and also foreign owned joint ventures.

She has delivered sourcing projects for large infrastructure installations across the globe and brings significant negotiation and project management experience to our team.  She provides our clients with practical and enthusiastic advice on long term cost reduction.
